Telecom company recognized for impactful CSR initiatives supporting digital inclusion, education, and sustainable development in Egypt.
Orange Egypt has received the Athar Award for Best Practices in CSR and Sustainability, recognizing the company’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. It is a recognition of Orange Egypt’s commitment to sustainable development in Egypt and its alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and the United Nations’ SDGs.
The recognition has been received by Maha Nagy, Chief Communications Officer at Orange Egypt. Maha Nagy has stated that it is a testament to Orange Egypt’s strategic commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. “Receiving the Athar Award is a recognition of Orange Egypt’s commitment to its CSR and Sustainability strategy, as it is focused on creating measurable results with a social impact,” she said.
Over the course of the last year, Orange Egypt has expanded its various social impact programs. For instance, Orange’s Orange Digital Schools program has now expanded to 100 schools across the country, benefiting over 3,000 students. Furthermore, Orange’s Digital Centers for Women have expanded to 18 centers across Upper Egypt, providing digital skills training to over 21,000 women across the region.
Moreover, Orange has also supported young people in acquiring technological skills through its Digitopia program, which has enabled over 25,000 young people to acquire skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, gaming, and creative technologies.
With over 40% of its sites being powered by renewable energy and its commitment to digital inclusion programs, Orange Egypt is committed to building on its reputation as a major contributor to sustainable development in Egypt.
