Jaafar Jackson's 'Michael' Box Office Collection Crosses Rs 25 Crore, Becomes April's Top Hollywood Grosser

Jaafar Jackson starrer 'Michael' dominates Indian box office collection, surpasses 'The Mummy' to claim highest-grossing Hollywood film of April 2026.

Jaafar Jackson's movie on the King of Pop, titled 'Michael', made a notable box office collection record on Day 5 of its release as the movie broke through the Rs 25 crore grossing mark in the Indian box office collection segment. From a Business standpoint, the film’s performance reflects strong commercial viability and growing demand for international biographical content in India. The movie managed to collect a net box office of Rs 2.40 crore across 2,783 screens on Tuesday, up 6.7% from Monday. As a result, the overall box office collection of Hollywood movies reached Rs 21.15 crore net and approximately Rs 25.31 crore gross in India.

The steady increase in box office collection is an indicator of high audience appeal. Even though 'Michael' showed an upward trend in daily box office collection, it faced stiff competition from Akshay Kumar's movie 'Bhooth Bangla' that became the top-grossing movie of the day with Rs 6.49 crore collection. Nonetheless, 'Michael' outperformed Lee Cronin's 'The Mummy', which earned approximately Rs 23 crore gross and became Hollywood's most successful movie in terms of April box office collection. This trend also highlights evolving Digital Marketing strategies and audience engagement techniques that contribute to sustained box office growth.

According to industry experts, "the trend in the box office collections of Michael indicates continued interest from the audience even after facing competition from other homegrown movies. There are only about two days left before the movie completes one week at the Indian Box Office. It is expected that box office collections will remain strong until the launch of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on May 1." As Business Honor states, this is indeed a successful performance of the Hollywood movie in India due to rising interest among the Indian audiences towards international biographical films.
