With 54 new satellites deployed, SpaceX enhances global internet coverage and continues its record-setting launch schedule.
SpaceX marked another milestone in its satellite deployment program by launching two groups of Starlink satellites in separate bicoastal missions. The first liftoff took place at 5:10 a.m. EST from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
This mission successfully deployed 25 Starlink satellites Group 17 23 into low Earth orbit contributing to SpaceX's goal of creating a global satellite internet network. The excitement did not stop there. Approximately 12 hours later another Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 9:56 pm EST on March 2 carrying an additional 29 Starlink satellites Group 10 41. Both launches demonstrated not only SpaceX's commitment to expanding its internet capabilities.
Also its technical prowess in rocket reusability. The first stage boosters from both missions were recovered successfully showcasing SpaceX's innovative reuse strategy that significantly reduces the cost of launch. Booster 1082. Launched from California, completed its impressive 20th flight by landing on the droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile Booster 1078 returning from the Florida launch achieved its 26th mission by landing on the droneship in the Atlantic Ocean. With these latest launches SpaceX has now deployed over 9900 Starlink satellites into orbit as tracked by space analyst Jonathan McDowell. The March 1 missions represent SpaceX's 27th launch of the year.
