American Chemical Society selects global cohort of researchers to develop leadership skills and advance scientific innovation.
CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society has revealed the 2026 CAS Future Leaders™ cohort selecting early career scientists from a competitive global applicant pool to participate in an intensive leadership and professional development initiative. The new cohort conducts advanced research across diverse scientific disciplines including cheminformatics, synthetic biology and materials science positioning them at the forefront of scientific innovation.
The two week in person program that is scheduled for August offers participants comprehensive professional development designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and communication skills. "We are proud to support early-career scientists who want to strengthen their leadership and communication skills," said Peter Carlton, CAS Future Leaders program director. "The strong interest in this year's program reflects the value scientists see in developing capabilities that amplify their impact in their fields."
The program provides exclusive operational insights and professional advancement opportunities. Participants will gain behind the scenes knowledge of how CAS transforms scientific knowledge into actionable intelligence for innovative organizations. Selected scientists will present their research at the ACS Fall 2026 conference in Chicago, Illinois providing a platform for sharing discoveries with the broader scientific community. All participants receive three year ACS memberships facilitating continued professional engagement and networking.
