Donations of food and supplies bring hope to the elderly, children, and the needy.
The UBA Foundation, United Bank for Africa Plc's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, has once again demonstrated its commitment to giving back through its charity visit program, providing relief to vulnerable citizens in Lagos, Nigeria. During its charity visit program, the Foundation paid visits to So-Said Charity Homes Community and SOS Children's Village in Lagos. They donated food items and relief supplies to elderly citizens, children, and other less privileged citizens during the visit.
During the event, in her speech, Ms. Alero Ladipo, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, UBA, referred to the Foundation's mission to make an impact. "UBA Foundation is all about touching lives and giving back to society where we do business. The elderly and children are among the most vulnerable in society, and it is our responsibility to assist them with a helping hand as best we can," she stated. The donation was warmly received. So-Said Charity Homes CEO Mrs. Felicia Martins expressed her appreciation: "We are thankful to UBA Foundation for remembering us. These donations will ease the suffering, particularly in these hard times.
Ayodeji Adelopo, Programme Director, SOS Children's Village, also appreciated the Foundation for its continued support of the orphaned and vulnerable children. "This is an act of generosity that brings much-needed supplies and necessities to the children," he remarked. UBA Foundation Managing Director/CEO, Bola Atta, reiterated the bank's commitment to CSR. "We aim to empower communities through education, empowerment, and environmental development," she stated. With so many projects in Africa, the UBA Foundation is setting the pace for social responsibility, demonstrating how companies can actually have an impact on people's lives.
