UK Offers Funds and emergency responders to Nepal after deadly flash floods leave hundreds dead and more than 1,000 missing amid widespread destruction.

The United Kingdom has offered £5 million and emergency responders to Nepal following devastating flash floods and landslides that have claimed hundreds of lives and left more than 1,000 people reported missing. The UK emergency aid for Nepal flash floods comes as rescue teams face difficult conditions while searching for survivors and reaching isolated communities.

British authorities have noted that about 33 British citizens are missing. The UK has sent rescue teams to assist the victims around the clock.

Speaking about the situation, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has described it as devastating. He stated that the UK had pledged financial and emergency assistance to Nepal. Deployment of the rescue team will depend on permission from the Nepali government.

"Charles and Camilla were very sorry about this disaster," and they have offered condolences to families that have lost a member or those who are trying to find some information about their relatives. William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have also expressed their worries and thanked the rescue workers who have been working in difficult circumstances.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office of the UK stated that it is preparing humanitarian assistance following the appeal from Nepal, which needed help for food, shelter and health care. "It might take some time before a full assessment could be made due to the scale of the destruction caused," said officials.

The Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband has talked with Shisir Khanal, the foreign minister of Nepal, offering financial, search-and-rescue and other types of assistance.

Funds from global sources with support from the UK, such as the IFRC Disaster Relief Emergency Fund, have already started supporting the operations. The Nepal flash floods international humanitarian response is expected to expand as authorities assess the needs of affected communities.

In the flooding region near the Nepal-Tibet border, there was a sudden rise in water level, causing huge landslides. Mud has covered up several villages and hindered rescue efforts.
