Harsh V Trehan named GSK India's CHRO and Executive VP, leading HR strategies for future growth.
Global bio-pharmaceutical major GSK has appointed Harsh V Trehan as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Executive Vice President for India. Operating from Mumbai, Trehan will head the Human Resources function for GSK India's pharmaceutical business, managing a human resource base of around 4,000 employees.
In his new position, Trehan will work hand-in-hand with Bhushan Akshikar, Managing Director, GSK Pharmaceuticals India, and Tomo Yashiki, Vice President - HR for Emerging Markets. He will be responsible for crafting and implementing a people and culture agenda that is transformative in nature and aligned to GSK's global vision and facilitating the company's growth aspirations in India.
"I am responsible for propelling GSK's bold and innovative vision forward while drawing on the company's 100-year history in India. My focus will be on driving organizational change to set the business up for the future," Trehan posted on LinkedIn.
Before to entering into this leadership role, Trehan worked for more than four years as People Services Lead at GSK Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru, where he was instrumental in developing world-class HR capabilities that contributed meaningfully to global HR programs. He focused on driving transformation in HR processes through employee experience, operating efficiency, and innovation.
Trehan's career of more than 25 years includes high-level leadership experience, such as Chief People Officer at Compass India. He has been associated with GSK since the early years of his professional life and had various HR positions from 2001 to 2011.
Possessing a Master's in Personnel Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Trehan has vast experience in HR planning and can be instrumental in the continued success of GSK in India.
