Indian firm to supply advanced airborne ICU modules, boosting 'Make in India' vision.
Sansera Engineering, a precision engineering firm, has signed a historic deal with Airbus Defence and Space. Sansera will manufacture, deliver, and service the Airborne Intensive Care Transport Module (ICTM) under a deal worth approximately Rs 1.60 crore (USD 18.8 million). The multi-year deal is likely to turn Sansera into a preferred supplier of Airbus's light and medium transport aircraft programs.
The ICTM is a very sophisticated medical system for the safe transport of critically ill patients in emergency conditions. As a mobile ICU, the ICTM can deliver advanced critical care on board the aircraft, so patients can get the same level of care as in a hospital ICU.
1. Sekhar Vasan, the chairman and managing director of Sansera Engineering, discussed the partnership and said that being Airbus's Indian supply chain partner was an honor. He says, This partnership represents a major milestone in Sansera's evolution as a precision manufacturing leader for the global aerospace and military industry. "This tie-up helps the Prime Minister's 'Make in India' initiative by creating advanced aerospace manufacturing units in India and sets us on the path for growth in the global market," Vasan added.
The circumstance demonstrates Sansera's commitment to quality, automation, and innovation as well as its capacity to support India's domestic aerospace and defense technology capabilities. In its role in developing the indigenous aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, Sansera is playing a leading role in influencing India's aerospace future, especially in high-tech segments such as emergency medical transport.
This partnership with Airbus is validation of Sansera as a best-in-class supplier in the global aerospace supply chain and is evidence of the continued growth of the company in the defense market.
