3DPRINTUK invests £2 million to expand MJF capacity, becoming UK’s largest provider of HP technology.
3DPRINTUK, a prominent 3D printing service bureau located in London, has revealed a £2 million investment aimed at boosting its additive manufacturing capabilities, solidifying its status as the largest provider of HP’s Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology in the UK. As part of the TriMech Group, the company will be adding three HP 5210 PRO systems to its current lineup, increasing its total number of MJF machines to eight.
This expansion is a crucial element of the company’s larger strategy to decentralize manufacturing, lower production costs, improve product quality, and provide quicker lead times for its customers. Nick Allen, CEO of 3DPRINTUK, expressed his excitement over the initiative, saying, "We are taking bold steps to decentralize manufacturing and create opportunities for our customers where they didn't exist before." He also mentioned that the company is dedicated to innovation, which is one of the core principles of cost reduction, quality enhancement, and speed improvement.
In addition to these new machines, 3DPRINTUK also launches a competitive pricing structure allowing customers to reduce their MJF manufacturing costs up to 20%, with higher discounts up to 50% for specific geometries and order sizes. According to the firm, this competitive pricing strategy places additive manufacturing side by side as a viable substitute for traditional processes such as injection moulding when high-volume runs are required.
Additional protection against inaccuracy and inconsistency can be provided with the company's proprietary RAMP Calibration System that analyzes thousands of data points for hundreds of hours of print. This quality-control enhancement will support 3DPRINTUK to ensure that consistency in accuracy is maintained at its production process throughout.
The company has been accelerating its growth initiatives since relocating to a new headquarters and being acquired by TriMech’s Solid Solutions, further establishing its presence as a key player in the UK’s 3D printing sector. 3DPRINTUK also intends to announce the next steps in its expansion plans soon.
