Wipro Hydraulics strengthens North American operations with acquisition of Columbus Hydraulics, expanding capabilities.
It is reported that the Wipro Hydraulics, a subsidiary of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, acquired Columbus Hydraulics, a US-based hydraulic solutions manufacturer. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Wipro's footprint in the North American market by enhancing its manufacturing capabilities, considered a significant milestone in expanding its plans. The financial details of the transaction are not available.
With 100 percent ownership of Columbus Hydraulics, Wipro Hydraulics will leverage the company's strength in customized hydraulic solutions to provide its customers with a more expansive and comprehensive product line. Its 1,20,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Nebraska brings on board an experienced workforce of 150 employees further strengthening Wipro's manufacturing strength in the region.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director, Wipro Enterprises CEO Pratik Kumar said he was excited about this acquisition and pointed out that with this acquisition Wipro would continue to strengthen its ground in the North American market. According to him, the integrated specialized hydraulic solutions of Columbus Hydraulics to Wipro would help the former to offer tailor-made solutions on different customer expectations.
The acquisition falls in line with Wipro Hydraulics' plans to expand its North American operations, following the acquisition of Mailhot Industries, which has accelerated growth in the region even more. As Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, points out, "This is the fifth acquisition for the hydraulics business and the fourteenth overall for Wipro Infrastructure Engineering.".
