This acquisition adds around 20 new staff members to PNO Consultants, raising its workforce to approximately 570
In a strategic move to strengthen its European presence, PNO Consultants has acquired Norwegian boutique consulting firm Esacon, marking the company’s debut in the Nordics. Founded in Oslo in 2010, Esacon has distinguished itself in the niche of subsidy consulting, particularly through its expertise in the SkatteFUNN tax credit program, which supports R&D projects in Norway. The firm has successfully processed over 2,800 tax credit applications since inception.
This acquisition adds around 20 new staff members to PNO Consultants, raising its workforce to approximately 570. The deal also marks PNO’s first office in the Nordic region. Despite being new to the Nordic market, PNO Consultants has been engaged with Norwegian entities for over six years, providing advisory services on EU funding and R&D tax schemes. CEO of PNO Group, Paolo Salvatore, emphasized the kinship between the two firms, highlighting the enhanced capabilities and extended service offerings that the partnership will bring. Salvatore stated that Esacon’s dedication to excellence perfectly aligns with the company’s goal.
Erik Frey Olsen, CEO of Esacon, voiced excitement about the merger, noting that it will enable Esacon to utilize PNO’s expertise, particularly in EU funding, to better serve Norwegian clients. “This partnership will significantly benefit Norwegian businesses by integrating our local expertise with PNO’s extensive EU funding knowledge,” Olsen added.
