The addition of Morpheus will enable HPE GreenLake to manage diverse IT estates more effectively
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced plans to acquire Morpheus Data, a leading player in hybrid cloud management, as part of its strategy to streamline IT operations for enterprises. The acquisition aims to bolster HPE's GreenLake cloud platform by integrating Morpheus' advanced capabilities in multi-cloud application provisioning, orchestration, and FinOps for cloud cost optimization.
As enterprises face increasingly complex and fragmented IT environments, HPE is positioning GreenLake as the unified platform to simplify operations across public and private clouds. The addition of Morpheus will enable HPE GreenLake to manage diverse IT estates more effectively, offering customers comprehensive tools for automating and orchestrating application lifecycle management. This move follows HPE's successful acquisition of OpsRamp in 2023, further solidifying its hybrid cloud offering. HPE hopes to be the first provider to offer a comprehensive set of enterprise-grade capabilities throughout the hybrid cloud stack by incorporating Morpheus' technology, rendering GreenLake a future-proof platform for managing workloads that involve virtualization, cloud-native computing and artificial intelligence.
The acquisition, expected to close by the fourth quarter of HPE's 2024 fiscal year, will see Morpheus' technology integrated into HPE's existing offerings while continuing as a standalone product. This deal marks a significant step in HPE's ongoing efforts to help enterprises reduce IT complexity, optimize cloud spending, and accelerate innovation across hybrid environments.
