Naotaka Nishiyama, founder and CEO of Tech Japan, recently moved to Bengaluru, calling it a "big new chapter" in his life. In a LinkedIn post, Nishiyama expressed his admiration for India's diversity and the crucial role of Indian leadership in the world.
"The world needs Indian leadership. After a month in India, I am amazed by the diverse values here. It's incredible how India remains united despite its various religions, races, and values," he said. Nishiyama's move coincides with India's election season, which he sees as a perfect time to reflect on leadership.
Nishiyama emphasized the importance of collective effort in today's uncertain world. "In socialist countries and military-like organizations, the traditional top-down approach worked well. But now, we need to move forward together, using diverse ideas. When leadership relies only on one person's views, it misses many important points," he explained.
Comparing Japan and India, Nishiyama noted that Japanese management often confines people to a single way of thinking. In contrast, India’s large, diverse population requires a more inclusive approach. "India, with its complex history and diverse population, can't be limited to one set of values. Instead, it creates a broad framework that includes many different perspectives. This allows progress despite individual differences," he said.
Nishiyama’s insights highlight the strength of India’s inclusive and collaborative leadership, underscoring its potential to inspire and lead on the global stage.
