26-Year-Old Jacob Wenske Arrested For Threatening Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk

Erika Kirk's scheduled appearance at Turning Point USA summit proceeds despite arrest of man accused of making violent threats and bombing references against the organization.

  •   Alleged threats included bombing language in April social media post about summit

  •   Previous January email threatened death at Turning Point events nationwide

  •   Kirk scheduled to appear at San Antonio summit June 5-7 despite security concerns

  •   Wenske faces two felony counts; held on $120,000 bond pending court appearance

Jacob Wenske of San Antonio, 26 years old, has been arrested by San Antonio law enforcement because they believe he has made political threats against Erika Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA, in relation to an upcoming conservative summit to be held in San Antonio, TX. According to the criminal affidavit acquired by news agencies, Wenske made a Facebook post in April that contains threatening language regarding the Turning Point USA summit in San Antonio. Several other posts Wenske made within that same thread also make it clear he is aware of Ms. Kirk's travel plans and intends to attend this summit (e.g., "I can't wait to be a valet for her escort.").

Wenske’s threatening communications go back even further than this April 2020 Facebook post. It was previously documented that Wenske sent an email in January 2020, which also contained threatening statements consistent with those in his April 2020 Facebook post. The desire to kill Erika Kirk and everyone who spoke at the event was expressed by the writer of this email. Specific threats against the people attending the Summit as well as general threats against Christian nationalists and other groups identified in this incident are contained within the email. The threats indicate that the writer wants to bomb the Turning Point rallies and events and that future attacks will be directed toward all of the attendees at those events.

Kirk will be attending the Turning Point USA Women's Leadership Summit at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, being held June 5 through June 7. After learning of Wenske's arrest, officials from Turning Point USA issued a statement thanking law enforcement for their quick apprehension of Wenske and noted that the safety of its attendees, speakers, and staff is a top priority. Turning Point USA also stated that their events are routinely secured with enhanced, multi-layered approaches to security provided by either employee police or local law enforcement. Turning Point USA is dedicated to ensuring that threats do not silence them.

According to jail records, Wenske is currently being held pending trial on two charges of making a terroristic threat for the purpose of causing public fear or serious bodily injury or for the purpose of disrupting public peace; both charges are felonies. As a result, he has a $120,000 bond and remains in custody. His attorney, Ninfa Carrillo, has not publicly commented on these allegations against her client. The appearance at the summit occurred after Kirk had already received a series of threats against her, including having to cancel a prior engagement at the University of Georgia with Vice President JD Vance due to escalating security concerns because of threats deemed to be credible, according to both Kirk and her security team. Kirk is a mother of two and used social media recently to discuss her decision to cancel a previous engagement at the University of Georgia. The cancellation was the continuation of what she feels is her need to take more precautions because she was still mourning her late husband, Charlie Kirk, who was killed in September 2024 at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.

Business Honor is of the view that heightened security protocols at Turning Point USA events demonstrate organizational resilience and commitment to operational continuity despite emerging threats.
