Samsung has officially launched the Android 17-based One UI 9 beta program, giving Galaxy S26 users early access to new customization, security, and accessibility features.
Android 17 Beta Launches Through Samsung One UI 9 Program
Samsung has made its official announcement regarding the launch of the Android 17-based One UI 9 beta program for Galaxy S26, giving Galaxy S26 users an opportunity to explore the newest mobile software experience from Samsung. The beta program starts rolling out this week in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US via the Samsung Members app.
The Android 17 update comes with various customizing options for Samsung Notes, such as decorative tapes and extra pen line styles. Also, Samsung added Contacts to Creative Studio, making the process of creating personalized profile cards easier for users. It should be noted that the Creative Studio is yet to be downloaded separately, while also requiring Samsung Account logging.
One UI 9 Beta Enhances Android 17 Accessibility and Security
Apart from the above changes, Samsung also introduced significant user interface advancements in One UI 9 beta for Android 17. In particular, the company has revamped the Quick Panel, which allows adjusting brightness, sound, and media player controls separately and gives the option to resize them individually.
With regard to accessibility, there are several improvements to be highlighted. Firstly, it is now possible to control mouse key speed for better navigation experience. Secondly, Android 17 provides a single TalkBack package combining functions formerly offered by Google and Samsung services. Thirdly, there is a new feature called Text Spotlight, which enlarges selected text and shows it in a floating window.
As far as security is concerned, it is important to point out that Android 17 offers improved detection of potentially dangerous applications. Once the software identifies such applications, it notifies the user and advises to delete them.
Despite Samsung officially launching the beta rollout, signups for the same had not yet begun at the time of this report for certain eligible Galaxy S26 smartphones. People who would like to participate in the Android 17 test can keep an eye out for when signups begin on the Samsung Members app.
From the perspective of Business Honor, the Android 17 launch via One UI 9 beta marks yet another indication that Samsung is actively moving towards providing highly personal and secure mobile experience enhanced by artificial intelligence to Galaxy smartphone users.
