Kylea Tink replaces Brianna Casey as the new CEO of Foodbank Australia, aiming to raise funds and end hunger by 2030.
Foodbank Australia has named Kylea Tink as its new CEO, replacing Brianna Casey, the company's leader since June 2016. Tink covers the gap at an important time. The country faces a steep increase in food insecurity; according to the 2025 Hunger Report, almost every one of Australian households is having trouble getting enough food. The Foodbank has begun a bold attempt to raise more than $100 million annually. With the help of this money, 120 million kg of nutritious, culturally relevant food will be given to those in need across the nation.
Important programs like Fueling Healthy Eating, Feeding Australian Kids, Supporting First Nations People, and Foodbank in the Regions are all part of the approach. Tink has significant experience to bring to the role, having worked in the corporate, governmental, and charity sectors. She has served as managing director of Edelman Australia, CEO of Camp Quality, the first CEO of the McGrath Foundation, and a member of the federal parliament.
Tink remarked, "Joining Foodbank of Australia is the next step in my career. The issue of hunger in Australia is solvable. No one has to worry about where they will get their next meal. Now it’s the time to turn it into a reality.” Duncan Makeig, chair of Foodbank Australia, stated that Tink's leadership is important. "Tink's desire and vision are important to our growth and to making sure no Australian is left behind." Foodbank aims to bring lasting improvements instead of simply reacting to crises. Aiming to contribute to the creation of a future in which no Australian goes hungry, and can be attainable by 2030 with strong leadership and national support.
