KFC gets new CEO as Sapphire Foods names Vikrant Vohra

Sapphire Foods India has appointed Vikrant Vohra as President and CEO of its KFC business as part of a broader leadership reshuffle across its quick-service restaurant operations, strengthening internal succession planning and operational focus.

The Sapphire Foods India Company has appointed Vikrant Vohra as the new President and CEO of its KFC brand, which marks an important change in the leadership structure of its restaurant brands. Vikrant Vohra, who is currently running the Pizza Hut business for the Sapphire Foods India Company, will take up the new post on July 25, 2026. He will still be a part of the company's senior management team.

This comes as a result of Deepak Taluja stepping down from his current position as President and CEO of the KFC business for the company. Deepak Taluja will leave his job as the CEO of KFC on July 24, 2026, after completing his notice period. The leadership shift reflects a strong internal promotion strategy within Sapphire Foods, as the company continues to build from within its existing talent pool rather than relying on external hiring.

Vikrant Vohra has nearly two decades of work experience in the hospitality industry and quick-service restaurants. Prior to joining Sapphire Foods, he had worked in various hospitality chains like Marriott International, Taj, Hyatt, and The Park. In Sapphire Foods India, Vikrant Vohra had earlier worked managing KFC operations in Karnataka, Kerala, and West India.

The restructuring is accompanied by further changes in the company’s top management. Thus, as of July 25, 2026, Saurabh Girdhar has been appointed as Assistant Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Pizza Hut division of the firm. Girdhar brings in more than 17 years of experience in the field of quick-service restaurants from his tenure with Yum India and Devyani International.

The changes in Sapphire Foods’ top management indicate the company’s commitment towards operational excellence and growth at its KFC and Pizza Hut segments. The company continues to be a franchisee of some of the most famous global quick-service restaurants in India and other international markets. Business Honor believes Sapphire Foods’ internal leadership promotions reinforce stability and continuity, but execution pressure will remain high as competition in India’s quick-service restaurant market continues to intensify.
