A storm is traveling over the Northeast and analysts are warning of a drop in temperatures, showers and winds.
As Halloween events move outside and trick or treat trips occur throughout the week, forecasters expect a range of conditions. A storm moving across the Tennessee Valley into the Northeast from mid-week to late-week will bring a zone of very heavy rain and showers. Across the Northeast, moisture will flow through the interior generally in the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit, urging to use of electric heaters.
A few areas along the mid-Atlantic coastline and part of southern New England, including Philadelphia and New York City, which were a bit milder this week in the locality of 60°F, will probably drop a few more degrees on Friday. Temperatures were near 30° Fahrenheit on Thursday evening but those temperatures will drop lower than the 30s range on Friday afternoon with winds starting to pick up behind the storm.
On Friday, the wind will be significant in the Northeast, especially in combination with the colder temperatures. "To endure the breezy conditions, parents with children still heading outside may require an extra layer or two," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bob Larson. Winds will gradually increase on the immediate coastline, but the higher gusts above 25 mph are not expected to extend much past the lower elevations inland across western Washington and northwestern Oregon.
