BlueRebirth Council aims to transform car recycling using AI-powered precision dismantling and collaboration.
The BlueRebirth Council was recognized by a number of significant Japanese corporations to improve the recycling and reuse of older automobiles. Among the original members are Honda, Nomura Research Institute, Matec, Denso, Toray Industries and Rever Corporation.
With the use of a novel technique known as computerized precision dismantling they want to improve the system that links manufacturing and recycling. Nowadays, recycling automobiles can be ineffective and messy particularly when they are worn at the end of their useful lives.
This procedure frequently results in material mixing and makes effective part reuse challenging. The BlueRebirth Council wants to address this issue by employing technology to disassemble automobiles more precisely and hygienically. The new method will use artificial intelligence (AI) sensors and robotics to determine the optimal disassembly routes.
More valuable materials should be recovered and their quality should be improved as a result. Because fewer personnel would be required for physically demanding tasks, it can also aid in reducing labor shortages. By 2035, the council aims to change the automobile recycling sector into what it refers to as a "recycled materials manufacturing industry." This implies that recycling will include more than just getting rid of rubbish; it will also involve converting it into resources that may be used to create new automobiles.
The team intends to cooperate with other businesses, academic institutions and organizations on technology research and practical projects. Additionally, they will offer recommendations to the industry at large to inspire more environmentally friendly recycling practices. Thirty businesses have joined the council thus far by proving a keen interest in influencing the direction of vehicle recycling in Japan and perhaps elsewhere.
