Vi leads enterprise M2M growth, strengthening future telecom roles along with India’s growing digital economy and smart infrastructure demand.
Vi is quietly increasing its presence in the growing machine-to-machine (M2M) communication marketplace; that's a crucial area for telecom development. According to the latest report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Vi now has a 22.74% share, exceeding Reliance Jio's 18.31% share of the M2M market in India. While ranking third in the entire mobile customer market, this shows Vi's strong focus on business services.
From 16.52 million in April to 16.81 million in May, Vi's M2M interactions increased. Jio's M2M connections grew from 12.74 million to 13.53 million with a 54.31% share; Airtel continues to lead this market. As an outcome of the growing need for advanced connectivity across sectors like energy, automobiles, logistics, and intelligent infrastructure, India's total M2M network rose from 69.87 million in April to 73.91 million in May.
M2M connectivity offers telecom companies an ongoing and growing income source in addition to growing numbers of customers. Providing a more reliable business opportunity in spite of the challenges caused by expensive 5G rollouts and reduced customer development. Vodafone Idea's continuous M2M growth shows its attempt toward appealing to enterprise clients, who tend to be committed and valuable customers.
The M2M sector has become an important part of the business's recovery plan as it focuses on improvements to operations and secures extra funding. Vodafone Idea's early focus on M2M could position the business as an important player in strengthening India's smart infrastructure and determining the course of telecom as the country's digital economy develops and businesses need continuous device connectivity.
