Geodis revealed two new solutions to make the ever more complicated universe of reverse logistics more efficient. As e-commerce accelerates at a rapid pace, the amount of product returns has risen exponentially, and this poses a challenge to retailers. Geodis's new workflow automation module and returns management module help solve the issues by making the process more efficient and easier to navigate through the cycle.

The return workflow automation module provides a consumer-driven, self-service portal that simplifies the starting of returns or exchanges for customers. With this user friendly interface, consumers have the ability to create return shipping labels without direct intervention from the shipper. The automated process enhances speed, minimizes cycle times, and saves on operational expenses for both Geodis customers and end consumers.

Designed as a cloud-native solution, this module is easy to integrate with well-known e-commerce systems such as Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Magento. It provides end-to-end visibility from the point at which a return is started up to the disposition of the product, i.e., re-entry to stock or disposal. The portal is also very customizable, enabling clients to customize branding and return policies.

In contrast, the returns management module is centered on the reverse logistics process within the warehouse. It rapidly evaluates returned products, sorting them for inventory reintroduction, refurbishment, or disposal according to condition. Real-time inventory visibility and detailed reporting enable retailers to make better-informed decisions while enhancing sustainability through the minimization of unnecessary waste. Each solution is offered to Geodis's contract logistics and transportation customers in the Americas, providing a scalable method to improve returns management within a fast-changing marketplace.
