Born in the Jungle, Dandelooo’s upcoming animated film receives European deals, targets children and families, and debuts its trailer at Annecy.
Dandelooo Cinema, the feature film division of the iconic French animation company Dandelooo, announced that its upcoming animated film, Born in the Jungle will go on sale worldwide. First trailer of the film will be featured during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
The 70-minute film is currently in production, has already been picked up by a number of European nations— including Sweden (Folkets Bio), Germany (Luftkind Filmverleih), France (Little KMBO), and Spain (Modiband/Rita & Luca Films).
Born in the Jungle, the film is based on a book by Latvian author, Luize Pastore and also inspired by the true adventures of explorer Alexander Laime. The plot is set in 1950s Venezuela centering a 9-year-old girl Elizabeth, who has to find her missing brother and should also help a mysterious creature return to its home in the mountains. Targeted audiences are family and children 5 – 8 year old.
The film is directed by Edmunds Jansons and co-produced by studios in Poland (Letko), Latvia (Atom Art), and the Czech Republic (Hausboot). Dandelooo Cinema has established a strong recognition since launching its feature branch in 2024. Hola, Frida, its debut film won audience awards at multiple festivals and was released in 20 countries. The Upside-Down River and Granny Is a Tree are two more upcoming movies.
