Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S had his overall compensation rise 11% in 2024 to $16.1 million, according to the company's annual report. According to the report, Kumar's base salary, bonuses, stock awards, and other forms of compensation added up to the figure.
Ravi Kumar took over as the CEO of Cognizant in January 2023. He has continued to be interested in building the company's growth and positioning it as an industry leader in IT services. Under his leadership, Cognizant has embarked on efforts focused on building the company's business strategy and its employee engagement.
In 2023, Kumar received $14.4 million in total. His compensation today has a base salary of $950,000, stock grants, incentives, and other incentives tied to his performance and the performance of the company. The company rationalized that the hike was because of performance, advancements in key goals, and leadership contribution.
Before Cognizant, Kumar was also employed at Infosys, where he worked as a senior member and contributed to growing global business. Kumar's IT background and leadership skills were the primary considerations during his appointment as CEO.
