Changan Automobile showcases new energy innovations and global expansion plans at Auto Shanghai 2025.
Auto Shanghai 2025 opened officially on April 23 with Changan Automobile stealing the spotlight by displaying its full brand line and innovations in new energy vehicles (NEVs). With more than 600 media and 500 international partners present, Changan was in the center of attention with its ambitious new energy, smart technology, and globalization strategies.
Three strategic plans were rolled out by Changan: the "Shangri-La Plan" centered on new energy, the "Dubhe Plan" on intelligent technology, and the "Vast Ocean Plan" for expansion to the whole world. It unveiled its key brands—CHANGAN, AVATR, and DEEPAL—and showcased its new products and prospects.
One of the biggest highlights was the Q07, a mid-level SUV released with the Deepseek model. The vehicle stunned everyone with its large design, extended driving range, and advanced-level smart features. AVATR, Changan's high-end smart NEV brand, also unveiled the new AVATR 06, along with the likes of the AVATR 07, 11, and 12, driven by cutting-edge smart driving technology.
Addressing the younger, technology-friendly consumers, DEEPAL launched its very first full-size SUV, the DEEPAL S09,that offered style, safety, and an exhilarating drive experience. The brand's commitment to offer value to customers was evident with this model's launch.
Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan, sketched the company's international vision, setting a goal to launch 45 new products worldwide over the next five years and reach sales of 5 million vehicles in 2030. In 2024, Changan's overseas sales volume reached 536,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 47.9%.
In the future, Changan is set to invest more than 200 billion yuan (USD 27.43 billion) in developing a next-generation auto ecosystem, including strengthening its R&D department and exploring robotics and flying cars. The company's sustainability focus and ESG goals were also underscored during the event.
