Mahindra’s sales rose 18% to 97,177 units, with strong SUV, commercial vehicle, and tractor demand.
The automobile sales of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. rose 18% year-on-year in February 2026 with a total number of automobiles sold at 97,177 units indicating the momentum in the Indian passenger vehicle market growth February 2026 phase. The domestic utility vehicles sold by the company rose by 19% to 60,018 units from 50,420 units in February 2025, indicating that there was continuing strong demand across urban and rural markets for Mahindra's SUVs and as a result, they continue to have a solid presence as one of the best-selling SUV producers in India.
Additionally, domestic commercial vehicle sales increased by 10% during the month to 24,585 units, indicating continued stable demand conditions. Supporting optimistic assumptions regarding the India commercial vehicle sales outlook 2026, driven by continued infrastructure and transportation development activities. Exports saw major growth this year, rising by 11% compared to the previous year. This strengthened Mahindra's overall customer sales performance for this automotive manufacturer.
Mahindra's farm equipment business also had impressive results this year compared to the previous year, with a 34% increase in total tractor sales to 34,133 units from 25,527 units. In particular, domestic tractor sales increased 35% and tractor exports increased 20%. The growth in the farm equipment segment was attributed to various factors that improved rural income levels, including the high Rabi sowing, good reservoir levels, and better Kharif harvests. As a result of the positive market sentiment and the festive season, tractor sales in India are expected to continue strong growth in February 2026 and strengthen the entire rural demand recovery in the auto sector.
