COBOD launches BOD3 3D printer to revolutionize low-rise construction with efficiency, cost-saving, and sustainability.
COBOD International has taken a great stride in 3D construction printing with the launching of its BOD3 3D Construction Printer. It is the company's most advanced model ever, and it prints with real concrete and offers a portfolio of features poised to increase productivity, decrease costs, and expedite the delivery of low-rise buildings. The BOD3 seeks to counter the increasing world demand for shelter and infrastructure with a more realistic approach than what traditional construction offers.
The BOD3 has already been desployed in countries, such as Indonesia, Angola, and Bahrain. The printer has helped reduce downtime between projects and speeds up construction, allowing the efficient handling of high-volume construction jobs. Advanced, extendable ground-based track systems let it print multiple buildings one right after the other without needing reinstallation, which takes considerable amounts of time, thereby reducing the setup time and is ideal for large-scale construction sites.
The BOD3 has a modular design that can be tailored to specific construction projects. It is equipped with an operational stand, which allows operators to control and monitor the printer and its auxiliary tools in one integrated system. It also comes with a Universal X-Carriage, allowing for integration of additional tools such as insulation, painting, and sanding.
Another important innovation is the AHMS in the BOD3, which fully automates the flow of material to eliminate as much labor and optimize the whole construction process. The printer may print up to 99% with locally sourced materials, lowering the transportation costs and also lessens the carbon footprint. D.fab, the Cemex adaptation in partnership with COBOD, enables 3D printing of the adapted traditional concrete while significantly minimizing the use of the binder.
The BOD3 is designed to solve the global housing crisis by offering a scalable, fast, and cost-effective solution for mass housing production without compromising quality.
