The former president had backed out of a scheduled interview with the network just before the vice presidential debate, sparking controversy over the commitment. Questions about U.S. relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were among those posed to Harris in a sneak peek to her 60 Minutes interview, particularly against a backdrop of heightened tensions in the wake of last year's Hamas attacks. Harris mostly sidestepped direct responses.

The rally comes after a combative appearance in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he where he previously survived an assassination attempt just three months ago. He suggested his political opponents may have tried to do him harm during that rally.
