Trump demands apology from CBS's 60 Minutes as Harris prepares for media blitz ahead

Donald Trump has asked for an apology from CBS's 60 Minutes at a rally on Sunday at Juneau, Wisconsin. The former president had backed out of a scheduled interview with the network just before the vice presidential debate, sparking controversy over the commitment. The network wanted to insert fact-checking cuts into the interview, but the Trump campaign argued that the interview was never finalized, despite a report from CBS saying that Trump had agreed to the interview.

Thirty days out from Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris is rolling out a media blitz this week, appearing on 60 Minutes, The View, and later this week, with late-night host Stephen Colbert. Meanwhile, she's going to be navigating the media that Trump navigates. Questions about U.S. relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were among those posed to Harris in a sneak peek to her 60 Minutes interview, particularly against a backdrop of heightened tensions in the wake of last year's Hamas attacks. Harris mostly sidestepped direct responses.

The rally comes after a combative appearance in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he where he previously survived an assassination attempt just three months ago. He suggested his political opponents may have tried to do him harm during that rally. The stakes are high with the election nearing, and each candidate is multiplying their appearances across media outlets.
