NBA Celebrates Historic Moment: LeBron and Bronny Together

LeBron and Bronny James make history, becoming the first father-son duo in NBA

Bronny James made history with his dad, LeBron James, as they became the first pair of father and son to play together in an NBA game. That was in the LA Lakers against Minnesota Timberwolves' game, where both went out on court four minutes before halftime. But the magnitude of this moment forced the Lakers to include him on their opening game roster, even though Bronny, taken with the 55th overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, was probably going to spend most of the campaign in the G-League.

However, while Bronny was 0 for 2 in his first three minutes on the floor, he did come down and grab a rebound in his debut in the stats. Before the game, LeBron shared a viral prank video where he made light of a situation while "hazing" his son Bronny by dumping a box of Fruit Pebbles cereal into his son's car from a sunroof.

Reflecting on their time together on the court, LeBron described playing alongside his son as the surreal experience of a lifetime. "It was like being in 'The Matrix,'" he says. The two of them smiled at each other, and LeBron pointed out that it was joy just being a dad and sharing this moment, especially because he never had a dad growing up. Bronny has heard all the negative claims, that he is having it easy and rides on his daddy's coattails and that he should owe his existence in the NBA to his dad's fame. Bronny says he will use that negativity as fuel for his rookie season. Expect performances from both of these players this season.
