Animation and More Summit 2024 kicks off in Mumbai with keynote addresses, panels, and creative showcases.
Mumbai, India - The Animation and More (AM) Summit 2024, held on September 3-4 at NESCO Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, commenced with a series of engaging sessions and masterclasses. The summit opened with ceremonial lamp lighting and a welcome note from AnimationXpress founder Anil NM Wanvari.
David McGavran, CEO of Maxon, gave the first keynote words, "Crafting the Future: Where Innovation Meets Imagination." Showing off Maxon's software suite, which includes Cinema 4D and ZBrush, he also announced that ZBrush will soon be available for iPad.
A panel discussion titled "Global Animation Trends: Navigating the International Market" explored emerging trends and the dynamics of global audience preferences. Panelists included industry leaders like Manoj Mishra and Biren Ghose, who discussed India's growing role in the international animation market.
The session "Unleashing Creativity with Next Gen Workstations" by AMD highlighted advancements in workstations, featuring the Threadripper Pro and Radeon Pro. AMD's Ramesh Babu Pyla demonstrated how these tools enhance creative workflows.
In the "Animation’s Hidden Heroes" session, industry experts discussed the critical role of service studios. The panel included Gaurav Malhotra and Niloy Kanti Biswas, who shared insights on balancing client work with IP creation.
Other highlights included a showcase by independent artists, a masterclass on "The Garfield Movie" by DNEG Animation, and a drawing workshop titled "Whimsical Ink With Venky" led by Venkatramanan Koteeswaran.
The summit also saw the launch of the Maharashtra Immersive and Digital Content Creator Association (MIDCCA), aiming to position Maharashtra as a global hub for immersive and digital content.
