Edtech giant PhysicsWallah launches ambitious new initiative to support over 100 startups through mentorship and funding
PhysicsWallah, the rapidly growing edtech unicorn, has launched its groundbreaking initiative, the ‘PW School of Startups’ (PW SOS), alongside a substantial INR 100 crore ($11.9 million) fund aimed at nurturing more than 100 startups. This move marks a significant expansion for the company, which is renowned for revolutionizing education in India.
The PW SOS will offer a range of resources designed to support budding entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey. It introduces three distinct programs: Aarambh, Prarambh, and Hopes Alive, each tailored to different needs.
Aarambh is a five-day offline program targeted at school students, college students, and early professionals. It provides essential resources, networking opportunities, and expert guidance to jumpstart their entrepreneurial ventures.
Prarambh is a comprehensive five-month offline course designed for college students, emerging professionals, small family business owners, and second-generation entrepreneurs. This program focuses on more advanced training and mentorship.
Hopes Alive is a free, five-month hybrid program intended for seed-funded or bootstrapped startups from across India, offering a blend of online and offline support.
Founded by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah became a unicorn in 2022 with a $100 million funding round. Since then, it has broadened its scope to include offline education and multiple acquisitions.
Pandey believes in the transformative power of nurturing startups from Tier 2 and 3 cities. “These aspiring entrepreneurs have brilliant ideas but often lack guidance and community support,” he says. This new initiative aims to bridge that gap, fostering growth and innovation throughout Bharat.
