Oracle and the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) have launched an ambitious initiative to equip over 200,000 students across the state
The collaboration marks a significant step in Tamil Nadu’s effort to boost its young workforce's technological expertise. By 2024, students from various educational backgrounds—engineering, arts, and sciences—will receive specialized training and certifications through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Since the program's inception, more than 60,000 students from over 900 colleges have already signed up, underscoring the initiative’s widespread appeal and importance.
Tmt J. Innocent Divya, Managing Director of TNSDC, emphasized the program's impact: “Tamil Nadu is one of India’s leading states in terms of youth population. Naan Mudhalvan aims to provide a platform for young professionals to upskill and achieve their career aspirations. With Oracle’s support, we hope to train over 200,000 students in new technology skills, enhancing their future career opportunities.”
Training will be delivered both in-person by educators and digitally through Oracle MyLearn, Oracle’s comprehensive training platform. This initiative not only provides foundational knowledge but also professional-level certifications, enhancing job prospects and stability. Shailender Kumar, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director at Oracle India, highlighted the significance of the program, stating, “Our collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government represents a major step towards advancing India’s digital economy and preparing the next generation of tech leaders.”
Oracle University’s vast global learning resources, including over 20 million hours of content and training for over 3.1 million certified professionals, will support this transformative effort, ensuring students gain valuable skills that are highly sought after by employers worldwide.
