Burger King, McDonald’s, Whataburger, and other top chains introduce Korean-inspired flavors, banana milkshakes, and protein-packed options to attract diners nationwide.
This April, popular fast-food restaurants such as Burger King, McDonald’s, and Whataburger are introducing new menu items that incorporate Korean flavors and banana milkshakes. The new menu items and bowls are high in protein and are expected to improve customer experience and engagement.
Whataburger is launching a banana pudding milkshake, as well as bringing back its steakhouse burger. Burger King is launching new items on their MenuMasters Award-winning Whopper by You line. Meanwhile, McDonald’s is launching Korean-inspired items such as Korean sauce, seasoned fries, and desserts inspired by the Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters. Sweetgreen is launching Korean barbecue chicken, while Modern Market Eatery is launching Seoul bowls. Black Sheep Coffee and Better Buzz Coffee Roasters are launching banana matcha and cinnamon pistachio, respectively. MOD Pizza, on the other hand, is launching Buffalo- and Detroit-style pizzas, while Ruby Slipper is launching a new line of boozy brunch cocktails.
“Innovation in the menu is the key to keeping consumers interested,” stated a spokesperson from Whataburger. “Our banana pudding milkshake and seasonal burgers are examples of our menu meeting the changing tastes and trends in fast food dining.” Experts in the field agree that fast food restaurants offering international dishes and protein-based meals will be more attractive to younger consumers who are interested in trying the latest trends and flavors.
