Taste of the States Miami Expands as U.S. Takes Country of Honor at 2026 Show

Taste of the States Miami reaches record size as the U.S. earns Country of Honor, giving American food brands a bigger stage for global exports.

  • Taste of the States Miami expands 11% to a record 22,200-square-foot pavilion.

  • 165 U.S. food and beverage companies will connect with 32 buyers from 23 countries.

  • The U.S. is named Country of Honor as the Food & Beverage Show marks its 30th anniversary.

  • 12 state agriculture departments, including first-time participant Michigan, are taking part.

  • The pavilion aims to turn international buyer meetings into new markets and stronger U.S. food exports

Taste of the States Miami is getting more strategically important as the  National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) prepares its largest-ever pavilion at the 2026 Americas Food & Beverage Show & Conference, set for September 14-16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The pavilion has expanded 11% to 22,200 square feet, bringing together 165 U.S. food and beverage companies, 12 state departments of agriculture and 32 NASDA-sponsored buyers from 23 countries.

Could one Miami trade show open the door to an entirely new export market?

For small and midsized U.S. food brands, that is precisely the opportunity. The pavilion is designed to connect American suppliers directly with international buyers, helping companies establish relationships, introduce products and pursue new U.S. food exports.

The timing adds another layer. World Trade Center Miami has named the United States Country of Honor, coinciding with America's 250th anniversary and the Food & Beverage Show's 30th year.

NASDA CEO Ted McKinney said the expanded showcase builds on more than 1,500 scheduled buyer meetings from last year. Michigan is also joining the event for the first time among the 12 participating states.

But does a larger pavilion automatically translate into larger export deals?

Not necessarily. Trade shows create access, but sustained American food exports depend on what happens after the meetings. Pricing, distribution, regulations and long-term buyer relationships will ultimately determine whether introductions become commercial contracts.

The initiative is also backed by more than 25 years of cooperation between NASDA, World Trade Center Miami and the USDA's Caribbean Basin Agricultural Trade Office. NASDA is producing the pavilion with the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.

A total of 178 companies and organizations are participating, including seven U.S. agricultural trade cooperator organizations.

Is the Country of Honor recognition simply ceremonial or commercially valuable?

The answer will be measured beyond the exhibition floor. The larger NASDA Miami presence gives U.S. producers greater visibility, but its real value will depend on whether international exposure converts into market access and repeat business.

Business Honor Examines Taste of the States Miami offers American food brands an unusually concentrated opportunity to meet buyers from across the Americas and beyond. The next question is whether those conversations can turn into lasting export growth.
