Deepinder Goyal is on a mission to change the way we think about air travel and has established LAT Aerospace as a new company that is creating a revolutionary new type of transportation infrastructure. When he spoke with Raj Shamani who hosts the popular podcast Thought Leaders, Goyal shared his vision of an innovative new concept that would replace traditional airport facilities with something much smaller. LAT Aerospace intends on building very small, compact aircraft that can take off and land vertically in a small area of only twenty meters. By doing this, LAT Aerospace will eliminate the need for large airport facilities, allowing for quicker viajes between cities and improving urban mobility. The complete upside of this approach is very significant, and Deepinder Goyal believes that it represents a true paradigm shift in the future of aviation.

Goyal's criticisms of the traditional model of air travel point to the many frustrations associated with modern travel including time wasted waiting for security checks and boarding and lengthy delays during transfers and layovers. Using the flight route between New Delhi and Chandigarh, he illustrated how the current flight experience takes just as long as driving, thus making it impractical. LAT Aerospace is not just a flying option; Goyal sees the potential for it to be a vehicle for redistributing wealth and responding to the human migration patterns created by overpopulation in the cities of India.

According to Deepinder Goyal, if successful, this project could make India "the most beautiful place to live." Goyal commented, "We think about this as a 'moonshot'" referring to the high level of investment and long-term commitment needed to attract the best minds to work on cutting-edge technology to develop game-changing approaches to transportation. The founder´s confidence in LAT Aerospace derives from his belief in pushing the limits of what is now possible with technology. LAT Aerospace's approach to creating an improved, more efficient and flexible air travel system has the potential to redefine how people travel across states and regions throughout India.
