Transforming Lagos: Metro Smart City Fosters Luxury Living and Innovative Infrastructure Through Strategic Alliance with NLNG Cooperative Society.
The Metro Speed Group has moved ahead with a strategic alliance with the NLNG Cooperative Society (NLNG in Nigeria), which will help push forward the Metro Smart City (a multibillion-naira (NGN) smart housing development in Lagos, Nigeria). On 3 July 2023, the Metro Speed Group entered into a formal agreement with the NLNG Cooperative Society, which represents one of the largest cooperative business organizations in Nigeria, along with multiple Oil and Gas Industry partners within the project of a Metro Smart City. At the signing ceremony of the contract for the formation of a strategic alliance between the Metro Speed Group and the NLNG Cooperative Society, Col. Dele Oyefuga (Rtd), CEO of the Metro Speed Group, described the partnership as a long-awaited milestone. Col. Oyefuga stated, "It has taken us a long time to have you on board for our iconic project, Metro Speed Smart City."
"This initiative will establish a new standard of opulence in the city of Lagos, and assist the Lagos State and Federal Governments to satisfy housing needs of the middle and upper financing classes while developing a 21st Century Mega City.” Oyefuga states that the Smart City will be created as an interconnected urban setting with five levels of advanced Infrastructure security and technology-driven Amenities. "It is essential to have NLNG participating not just because of their Resources, but also due to their vast Experience," he said.
NLNG Cooperative Society President Taiwo Adekunle voiced support for the Smart City Project, which he considers a tremendous Value-Added Partnership with all the Cooperative Members. As of this time, the project has progressed significantly, with Land Reclamation expected to be complete by late 2026 and construction of Infrastructure has begun; thus, the first homes will be built prior to the end of 2027.
