Industry leaders unite to improve safety standards and regulatory compliance in the LPG supply chain across Dubai.
Emirates Petroleum Company PJSC (Emarat) has organized a LPG Safety & Operational Excellence Workshop today in Dubai. This event is focusing on providing support to key industry partners and Government Agencies in terms of improving the safety within the LPG supply chain and providing the best practices for operating LPG safely. The LPG workshop was designed to raise the awareness of the new regulatory requirements for operating and supplying LPG to commercial, residential and business customers, as well as identify the on-ground technical operational and market challenges and develop "quick wins" as a way of providing safe LPG systems in Dubai.
Emarat's LPG Team facilitated the workshop for all participants. Workshops started with a presentation of agenda topics by subject matter experts from each participating company. After each was discussed, there were recommendations and solutions presented, and implementation priorities were identified. Also included in the workshop was an agenda for developing a safe working environment (SWE) for LPG tank's pipeline safety; all the participating companies reviewed installations and maintenance practices for both tanks and pipelines; all participating companies underscored the need for standardized maintenance protocol for central LPG tank systems that guarantees operational discipline and compliance with safety standards.
Additionally, this workshop aimed to assist the Gas Sector with aligning their best practices to the newest regulatory requirements so as to enhance the governance framework of their LPG operations. Senior representatives of Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defense, and Emirates Gas (a division of ENOC Group), along with Emarat's LPG Team members and both the owners and representatives of Al Fahidi Gastech, Royal Gas, Shield Gas, and Happy Way Gas, participated in this workshop. Their attendance demonstrated a common commitment to enhancing public safety, improving compliance with the regulatory requirements, and improving the delivery of operational excellence in LPG Services throughout the Emirate.
