OpenAI’s ‘Company Knowledge’ collates and analyses your data faster, creating a single source of truth for everyone.
OpenAI has released a major integration to ChatGPT with its new Company Knowledge feature, designed for Enterprise and Edu users. This is not an extension for ChatGPT but an integration feature for users on the Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. Administrators must enable the feature and set up connectors to the organization’s apps. After this, users can use Company Knowledge for individual chats inside the ChatGPT interface. The built-in toggle feature lets users to turn it on and off when needed.
“Anyone on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu can use company knowledge. Company knowledge respects your existing company permissions, so ChatGPT only has access to what each user is already authorized to view,” the OpenAI statement said. Company Knowledge was designed keeping identity and access management and security in mind. The system functions strictly with existing company and user permissions meaning Company Knowledge can only view and access information that the organization or users allow it to access. Company Knowledge is powered by a version GPT-5 specifically trained for multi-source reasoning to get accurate information from multiple connected sources, putting together the information, accelerating efficiency, productivity and data driver decision making. Enterprise users get to see improved employee collaboration with access to a single source of truth and share information more effectively, in the process preventing knowledge silos. Edu users get personalized learning paths, real time teacher insights and improved knowledge accessibility.
Additional connectors like Asana, GitHub Issues and ClickUp are available to users. OpenAI has confirmed plans for further enterprise integrations and the use of other tools like browsing and image generation within Company Knowledge, continuing its broader expansion to enterprise users in the near future.
