The ICT Ministry began a five-day Kariba workshop to review progress and plan Zimbabwe’s future digital transformation and innovation goals.
The Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services has launched a five-day program, focusing on reviewing success under the 2021–2025 Strategic Plan and setting a new route for 2026–2030. This is held at the Caribbea Bay Hotel, gathering State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), officials, and other partners to help frame Zimbabwe's agenda for innovation and digital transformation.
Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. Dr. Tatenda A. Mavetera, stressed the importance of planning to handle the Ministry's activities in the introductory statements. According to Mavetera, collaboration, innovation, and flexibility are needed to match national ICT goals with worldwide developments and secure Zimbabwe's success in the digital age. POTRAZ and other government ministries and businesses took part in the training, which is being guided by Public Service Academy experts Mr. S. Musvibe and Ms. Primrose Gumbo. To evaluate performance metrics and suggest solutions to improve accountability and service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Beuallah Chirume, encouraged the participants to work closely to create a plan, supporting Zimbabwe's National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). In order to support sustainable growth, Chirume highlighted the need for measurable outcomes, increased digital accessibility, and continuous innovation. The workshop will place Zimbabwe as an innovator in Africa's technology growth by creating a foundation for improved service delivery, along with a strong digital infrastructure and increased sector engagement.
