Revolutionizing desktop 3D printing with powerful 5-axis precision, generative design, and industrial-grade performance in compact form
Aibuild is known for its advanced software used in large industrial 3D printers. Aibuild is teaming up with Generative Machine based on London to bring big machine accuracy to the desktop. Their new creation, the GenerationOne 5-axis 3D printer, aims to combine professional performance with a compact design.
The GenerationOne is different from other 3D printers. In spite of using traditional works like linear rails and a cantilever layout, its frame is 3D printed from aluminum using reproductive design, giving it a smooth, organic appearance. This technique improves the printer's appearance while protecting its construction.
A limited quantity of the printer will be available for purchase in advance at Aibuild's display at Formnext next month, when it will make its premiere. Although the price is still pending, it is expected to be comparable to other premium desktop 3D printers. The open-source Gen5X 5-axis printer was first created by Ric Real, CEO of Generative Machine, and was intended to modify and even rethink it depending on the parts that were available. By using Aibuild's expert software, the new GenerationOne expands on that concept and maximizes the capabilities of its five-axis motion system.
The 5-axis system can spin and tilt the print head, allowing stronger pieces, smoother surfaces, and less waste from support material than standard 3-axis printers that build layer by layer. This suggests that items can be printed in orientations that improve their final quality and permanency. The printer's build area measures 140 mm in diameter and 180 mm in height. It supports common materials like PLA and PETG and offers features like removable print beds and involuntary bed leveling. By providing desktop 3D printing capabilities comparable to those seen in industrial settings, this collaboration between Aibuild and Generative Machine offers an exciting leap in the evolution of additive manufacturing.
