TCS teams with New Zealand’s largest retail company, TWG to modernize IT, cut costs, and boost digital capabilities.
Tata Consultancy Services announced on September 15 that a planned partnership with The Warehouse Group (TWG) which is New Zealand’s largest retail company, to quicken its next phase of digital transformation. As part of the teamwork, TCS will work closely with TWG to update its IT landscape, simplify managed services and introduce advanced digital and AI capabilities. This initiative aims to build a more agile, efficient, and focused on future technology environment that authorizes TWG to better serve its customers.
TCS will lead the effort to justify and combine TWG’s technology platforms by helping the retailer optimize existing systems and extract greater value from its current tech investments. This digital overhaul is expected to reduce technology debt, drive platform adjustment and improve service delivery with stronger governance and clear reporting mechanisms.
According to Mark Stirton, Group CEO of The Warehouse Group, the partnership is a major milestone in TWG’s digital journey. He ornamented that the teamwork could save up to $40 million in licensing and managed service costs over five years, allowing internal teams to shift focus towards focused on customer invention. In addition to platform modernization, digital upskilling is a key component of the initiative. TCS will support TWG’s workforce by equipping them with AI and digital skills, making sure teams are ready to operate in a growing digital retail landscape.
Girish Ramachandran, President at Growth Markets at TCS, highlighted that the company will bring its global expertise in retail tech, data, and AI to help TWG unlock its long term value. He noted that TCS is committed to helping TWG adopt AI solutions to rationalize operations and deliver sustained impact. TCS also reaffirmed its commitment to New Zealand’s digital ecosystem, noting its continued participation in local STEM programs like GoIT and GoIT Girl to develop future ready digital talent.
