Salesforce’s 25-year journey in Ireland fuels innovation, diversity, and global success.
Salesforce, the international software firm renowned for its cloud-based offerings, is marking 25 years of doing business in Ireland. The firm began its operations in Ireland in 1999, expanding beyond the U.S. and establishing its first office in Dublin. Ireland was then still building up as a technology hub, but Salesforce's move into opening an office there turned out to be visionary. Presently, Dublin is the firm's biggest European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) base, with more than 2,500 staff members.
The company’s growth in Dublin has been a driving force behind its global success. Salesforce Tower Dublin, the Irish headquarters of the company, is a testament to its long-term commitment to Ireland. It is a hub that houses leadership development, training, and innovation as a central base. Carolan Lennon, Salesforce Ireland's country leader, said the Dublin hub has also been instrumental in developing the company's international growth strategy. The Dublin model was rolled out in other Salesforce sites across the globe, such as India, Mexico, and South America.
Salesforce has also been a leader of the tech industry in Ireland, drawing the best professionals from the entire EMEA region. Its culture of inclusion and diversity has played a crucial role in driving innovation. Its commitment to community outreach is also apparent, donating more than €8 million and 300,000 hours of service since landing in Ireland. Aside from its emphasis on talent and community, Salesforce is also at the forefront of artificial intelligence (AI) with its Agentforce technology, which it utilizes internally to enhance customer service. The company's emphasis on equality, sustainability, and technological progress continues to propel its success in Ireland and the world at large.
