Dr. Walden Rhines is appointed as the new CEO of Silvaco, supporting growth, innovation, and strategic transformation.

Silvaco, a semiconductor intellectual property solutions and multinational supplier of TCAD, EDA software, appoints Dr. Walden C. Rhines as their new CEO. Dr. Babak Taheri is replaced by Dr. Rhines after seven years of service and leadership during major expansion and a successful initial public offering (IPO).

The leadership shift occurs at an important moment during Silvaco’s next step of growth. Silvaco's main areas and Dr. Rhines' experience in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) suit the business's goal, supporting ongoing growth and innovation. Under the leadership of Dr. Taheri, the business grew strong in sales of double digits and also introduced the "One Silvaco" plan in order to simplify operations.

Recent acquisition has also paved the way for further development under the leadership of Dr. Rhines, claimed board chair Kathy Pesic. Dr. Rhines served as the CEO of Mentor Graphics for almost 24 years before its acquisition by Siemens in 2017, where he continues as head of Siemens EDA. His present role as Chairman of the Board at Qorvo and CEO of Cornami suggests his strong influence in the sector. As Silvaco continues to grow in the exciting semiconductor sector, the shift in leadership suggests security with future progress.
