Rajasthan sends 100 farmers abroad to learn advanced, cost-effective agricultural and dairy techniques.
With a most important step toward improving agriculture, the Rajasthan government will send 100 farmers abroad to learn advanced farming technologies. Under the Knowledge Enhancement Program, these farmers are arranged to travel to the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil from November 2025 to March 2026. The aim is to help farmers in adopting modern techniques to improve crop productivity and reduce expenses. The program was exposed in the state budget for 2024 to 2025 and received approval from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
It focuses on providing hands on training in countries known for agricultural invention and efficiency. Farmers will participate in 7 day training trips by visiting modern farms and learning about new techniques, tools and systems. Out of the 100 selected farmers, 80 will be from the agriculture sector, while 20 will be from dairy and animal husbandry. They will also examine the functioning of agricultural cooperative societies in other nations, particularly those that share a similar structure to India’s Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
To qualify, farmers are required to possess a minimum of 1 hectare of land (0.5 hectare for SC/ST and women farmers) and must have a minimum of 10 years of farming experience, utilizing modern techniques such as drip irrigation, solar pumps, drones and protected farming or automation systems. The government is confident that this exposure will allow farmers in Rajasthan to hold efficient, sustainable and driven by technology agricultural practices. The objective is to improve agricultural productivity, reduce resource consumption and raise farmer’s income.
The creativity is also expected to approve farmers through better knowledge of global best practices in agriculture and livestock management. The Knowledge Enhancement Program is seen as a strong move to support economic development in rural areas and to make farming more advanced and ready for future in Rajasthan.
