NFDC offers free animation and VFX training to North East youth, including gaming skills.
The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched a free residential training program in 3D animation and visual effects (VFX). Young people from India's northeastern states who wish to pursue professions in visual effects, gaming, or digital media are the people meant for this program.
The residents of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible to participate in the program that is designed for eight months. The applicants must be at least eighteen years old by June 2025 and having finished Class 12 or Class 10 and having at least three years of work experience in a similar sector. The course, which is being held in partnership with Aptech Limited, a renowned training facility will take place in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The program includes six months of classroom sessions on 3D animation and VFX followed by two months of hands-on industry training.
Students will work on real projects used in film studios, content creation and gaming. They will also be trained in professional tools and workflows that are widely used in the VFX and gaming industries. The selected 100 candidates will receive free accommodation, meals, laptops and learning materials. Only a small non-refundable registration fee of ₹1,180 is required. Applications can be submitted at their website and the deadline is August 15. This is the third edition of NFDC’s residential training for North East youth is aimed at developing skills and opening job opportunities in the fast growing animation, VFX and gaming sectors. Graduates will receive a joint certificate from NFDC and NCVET by helping them enter the global digital media workforce.
