Telangana’s IMAGE Tower and growing industry ecosystem to drive VFX, animation, and gaming growth while creating thousands of new jobs in Hyderabad.
The state of Telangana is all set to get an investment of around Rs. 250 Crore in the VFX, animation, and gaming industry in the year 2026. This is going to be a huge boost for the media and entertainment industry in the city of Hyderabad. The IMAGE Tower initiative is going to be the guiding light for the development of the animation, VFX, and e-sports industry in the city. Along with this, there are going to be huge employment opportunities in the industry.
This funding will help the industry grow in VFX, animation, gaming, and all related fields, as there are already 10,000 people working in this industry in Hyderabad. The companies are also investing in new-age technologies like Unreal Engine for real-time 3D content creation, new hardware, and a return to office work. The state of Telangana, along with TVAGA, is also working on the skills of the workforce, including the trainers.
“Hyderabad is becoming the hub of animation, VFX, and e-sports. Deals worth more than $30 million are being discussed at IndiaJoy,” said Rajiv Chilaka, President of TVAGA and CEO of Green Gold Animations. He further said, “The IMAGE Tower will be the engine of growth, attracting international companies and enabling industry expansion.” The IMAGE Tower, which is spread over 1.6 million sq ft, will house six studios, motion capture, green screen, and Digital Intermediate (DI) facilities. This will help in cost savings through the centralization of resources.
With 20% growth expected this year and an expected 50% hike in recruitment next year, Telangana’s IMAGE Tower and other strategic investments are expected to further strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a global hub for innovation in VFX, animation, and gaming.
