John Jacobi joins American Savings Bank as CIO, leading digital strategy and priority for customer first advancement.
American Savings Bank (ASB) has appointed John Jacobi as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). John will be responsible for ASB's technology teams and lead important digital projects in this leadership position to improve the banking experiences of both clients and staff. John joins ASB with over 30 years of leadership experience in technology. His most recent position was CIO at Hawaiian Airlines, where he supervised significant digital upgrades, improved operational data accessibility and simplified digital offerings to increase customer satisfaction.
American Savings Bank President and CEO Ann Teranishi stated that John Jacobi has the ability to oversee the bank's technology initiatives due to his huge background in invention and digital plan. As ASB continues to invest in technologies and solutions aimed at making banking easier, faster and more convenient for its clients, she said his leadership will be important.
John held senior technical positions at several popular firms, such as KPMG, Bank of Montreal, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, and Delta Airlines, prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines. He has received industry accolades for leadership and digital excellence for his work which have been acknowledged by Computer World and Air Transport World Magazine.
John Jacobi, who joined American Savings Bank during its anniversary year, reflected on his new role and took his gratitude for the opportunity. He stated that it is an honor to be part of an organization with a deeply rooted mission and strong connections to the Hawaii community. He is eager to support the bank's initiatives by offering creative and client-centered solutions.
Outside of business, John is also very active in leadership and service. He is a member of the Feeding America Technology Board and the University Of Georgia Fellowship Of Christian Athletes. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in computer technology and has attended MIT and Harvard for executive education.
