WhatsApp to Integrate Spotify for Seamless Music Sharing on iOS Status

WhatsApp is working on a new feature for its iOS version that will facilitate the sharing of music in status updates. A beta tracker reports that the functionality, which allows users to share music from Spotify on their status updates through integration, was discovered in the most recent beta version of WhatsApp for iOS. It is said to streamline the current procedure by doing away with stages like copying, pasting, and forwarding links.

The Spotify integration for WhatsApp status updates is being developed by Meta Platforms' instant messaging client and will be released in a future version of the app, according to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. The WhatsApp Beta for iOS app version 25.8.10.72 was where it was observed. Sharing music on status updates will include a preview created by WhatsApp that shows details like the song title, artist name, and album cover, according to screenshots the feature tracker supplied.

It is also believed to feature a link that, when clicked, will launch the song on Spotify with a Play on Spotify option. According to reports, when it launches, Spotify for iOS users will notice a new Status option in the share sheet. According to reports, it will make WhatsApp's music-sharing feature comparable to Instagram, another service developed by Meta Platforms.

Notably, earlier this month, it was rumored that WhatsApp for Android was developing a similar functionality. It was discovered in the Google Play Beta Program's WhatsApp beta for Android app version 2.25.8.3.
