Oracle NetSuite opens data centers in India to support local businesses and enhance cloud services.

On Wednesday, Oracle NetSuite inaugurated its first data centers in India, which are situated in the Oracle Cloud Hyderabad and Mumbai regions. The expansion, according to the company, intends to meet the growing demand from Indian businesses while expanding Oracle's global data center footprint. Due to the move, these local data centers will be used to provision all new NetSuite clients in India. It is expected that existing clients will be transferred over the course of the upcoming months.

Oracle's cloud-based business ERP branch, NetSuite, serves businesses with annual revenue up to $250 million USD. "We plan to launch this before the end of our fiscal year, which is before May 31, 2025," Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit Head of Asia Amit Suxena told BW Business world.

According to Oracle, the construction of these data centers in the nation will be crucial in assisting India-based companies in adhering to local data residency laws by lowering cross-border data transfers, serving India's market potential, and fostering the development of its startup ecosystem.

Another significant reason propelling this expansion is the evolving needs of Indian business owners, particularly in relation to scalability and financial transparency.  "For them, a requirement to have a solution like this helps them attract investment," Suxena said, referencing the post-Covid trend in which investors desire more governance and transparency.

"After the additional data centers are up and running, NetSuite will also offer disaster recovery services. With this latest extension, NetSuite is now available in 16 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
