Broadpeak's Origin Packager, deployed on Google Cloud Platform, is an efficient and scalable solution that allows TELUS to minimize the costs of its streaming infrastructure while maintaining the quality of video delivery to its subscribers.
As VOD content libraries become larger, it is essential that the delivery of content is more efficient. The Broadpeak Origin Packager decreases the storage and operational costs for VOD content by packaging and encrypting live and VOD streaming content in popular Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) formats like HLS and MPEG-DASH. This will reduce the number of software instances needed, very valuable for TELUS as it manages a large VOD library of approximately 150,000 assets.
