Ryder System's CISO, Joe Ellis, wins the prestigious Top Global CISO Award for 2024, marking his third consecutive recognition.

(NYSE: R) is pleased to announce its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Joe Ellis, has been recognized with one of this year's Top Global CISO Awards for 2024, published annually by Cyber Defense Magazine, as one of the world's premier awards for outstanding contribution to the world of cybersecurity through innovative leadership in defense against various emerging cyber threats.
Presently CISO to Ryder since 2018, Ellis was chosen from among thousands of applicants worldwide for this award. Judges of the award assess the candidates on their ingenuity in cybersecurity, success in informing and communicating with senior executives and boards, expertise in detection and prevention of data breaches, regulatory compliance, and the ability to build an effective program that reduces risks.

Ellis, as CISO at Ryder, oversees overall management in its information security within the transportation and logistics industries. Ellis had spent nearly three decades working as a CISO at Subway Restaurants before this. Among the most significant qualifications that he holds are his CISSP® certification, CISA, and CDPSE. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University.
